Laurel-London 911 Funding Approved

Funding for the London-Laurel County 911 dispatch center will continue for another year. Accordint to today’s Times Tribune, the Laurel County Fiscal Court approved that funding, that provides payments of 10 thousand dollars each, per month, to the court and city of London. The agreement is renewed annually.

Food Stamps May Now Be Used At More Farmers Markets

Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner James Comer says food stamp benefits can be used at an increasing number of farmers markets here in Kentucky. Comer says up to 225 farmers markets and individual producers now use Electronic Benefit Transfer equipment, representing a more than 10-fold increase from the 21 markets participating as recently as in 2010.
